Who or What are you Thankful for?

This article does not focus on the many pagan man made rituals that surround Thanksgiving instead this article focuses on the main source of “who” and “what” to be thankful for.

Around this time of year, American’s along with Canadian’s and many other cultures will be engaging in practicing man-made traditions of giving thanks. Let us ponder; do these age old customs truly produce an attitude of gratitude, thanksgiving or are these customs superficial?

Societies around the world actually show there are countless examples that people indeed are not thankful despite the continuation of these age old man made traditions. After all, is not the intent of these traditions that surround Thanksgiving designed to remind us all of just how thankful we ought to be?

Allow us to share why we believe the majority in the world are incapable presently of giving true and proper thanks. This belief firmly exists because people are not aware first and foremost on “who” to thank and “what” to be thankful for.

Examining the following four points will prove that in general, there is really no attitude of gratitude on this planet.

The first point we need to look at is that people spend more money each month than what they bring in. This causes debt. With the world economies on the brink of total collapse, one does not need to be a rocket scientist to figure out ‘it’s about to pop!’  We can easily put two and two together here and see the underlying cause equals GREED!

    Yahuwah clearly warns that ‘greedy of gain’ will not be permitted in the coming reign;

But whoring and all uncleanness, or greed of gain, let it not even be named among you, as it proper among set-apart ones-neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor course jesting, which are not fitting, but rather thanksgiving. For this you know, that no one who whores, nor unclean one, nor one greedy of gain, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the reign of Messiah and Elohim.” -Ephesians 5:3-5

Considering the above, do people who spend themselves into oblivion show thankfulness? Or do they have a present contentment for the blessings they presently have acquired? The answer to both is clearly no.

This discontent obsession of buying things with money that is not theirs is highly practiced today. Many societies are not only spending but actually stealing their children’s, children’s future. Since when did this type of greed, which has produced debt levels never before seen in human history look, like a practice of being thankful? How can this be a characteristic of being thankful?

These many wanton’s of “buy now pay later” has spiraled out of control. This is the common norm today, soon to reach a point of no return. Sooner or later the people will pay, and what a heavy yoke it shall be.

This ideology of wanting more and more even when you cannot afford it is to be a sign of weakness. This is a clear indicator that those folks that are very discontent and not thankful for the present blessings they have.

Why such a disrespect and unthankful action towards our futures let alone our children? Could it be it is because most have truly forgotten and are no longer aware of “who” to be thankful towards let alone “what” to be thankful for?

Another point we need to focus on is that all around the world obesity is at an all-time high. How can this be when our food products are increasingly labeled to give consumers valuable information? Each label shares the caloric, sodium and different types of fats that these foods contain. Taking the time out to read these labels, consumers could benefit greatly. Yet it seems way too many people simply are not thankful for what they have. Even when most are aware of the dangers they still continue to consume what is not good for them let alone more and more of it. This definitely is not a sign or characteristic of being thankful. This habit of over eating or simply eating the wrong foods leads to all sorts of diseases. For instance diabetes, cancers, strokes and heart attacks. Even though the majority is aware of this, come Thanksgiving they give it their best efforts to once again obtain these diseases by indulging in gluttony. Then when Christ-Mass comes along with News Year’s Eve they do it all over again. Scriptures have much to say about this as well:

And take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down by gluttony, and drunkenness and worries of this life, and that day come on you suddenly.” –Luke 21:34

Food has become a very serious addiction. Is this behavior a sign or a characteristic of thankfulness? Of course not! In reality this is very disrespectful and an unthankful action. Clearly, many have forgotten and are no longer aware of “who” to be thankful towards let alone “what” to be thankful for.

Sadly the next point we need to consider is very alarming.  Divorce is at an all-time high in which one out of every three marriages fails. Can this action be construed as a practice or characteristic of thankfulness? Of course not! Marriages today has become like products bought over and over again. Planned obsolescence is the methodology of the day, in which the thought process becomes if you are not happy and or thankful with what you already have. This ideology has now spanned out and applies to getting a new spouse. Forget the vows of ‘to death do us part’ now-a-days the norm is to just trade the old one in, like some old junkie car! Scriptures tells us that:

An overseer, then should be blameless, the husband of one wife” -1Timothy 3:2

Why such a disrespect and unthankful action towards our original loved ones? Could it be it is because many truly have forgotten and are no longer aware of “who” to be thankful towards let alone “what” to be thankful for?

Lastly the ever increasing and record setting drug and alcohol practices are a clear indicator most are not thankful. Anyone that is attempting to escape at this extreme level of danger to themselves and or others is not someone who is at peace. People who cannot find peace cannot understand how to be thankful let alone experience it. Why such a disrespect and un-thankful action towards ourselves let alone others around us? Could it be it is because we truly have truly forgotten and are no longer aware of “who” to be thankful towards let alone “what” to be thankful for?

Clearly it is really easy to prove why people in the world are incapable presently of giving true and proper thanks. Please understand that this is not the disease but rather just the symptoms. It is extremely simply, if you do not know ‘who’ to thank and ‘what’ to be thankful for how could you ever be thankful? A true thankfulness would eliminate the pain and strife as contained in the four points above.

To further expound on this, if someone gave you a gift but you did not know ‘who’ gave it to you, inall fairness could you actually be thankful towards that person? In truth you could not give thanks because you do not know ‘who’ to give thanks to. Receiving the gift still would be great but ‘who’ could you give thanks too?

Allow me to explain this even further. Someone I know sent out an Apache Thanksgiving prayer. As beautiful as the poem was it did not leave you with anyone specifically to thank let alone what to be thankful for. The following Scriptural passage captures what is going on here.

For since the creation of the world His invisible qualities have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, both His everlasting power and Mightiness, for them to be without excuse, because, although they knew Elohim, they did not esteem Him as Elohim, nor gave thanks, but became vain in their reasonings, and their undiscerning heart was darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and changed the esteem of the incorruptible Elohim into the likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of birds and of four-footed beasts and of reptiles. Therefore Elohim gave them up to uncleanness in the lust of their hearts, to disrespect their bodies among themselves, who changed the truth of Elohim into the falsehood, and worshipped and served what was created rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever.”
–Romans 1:20-25

The Apache poem is just one example on how it robs people on “who” they must thank let alone “what” they must be thankful for. Since the true Good News is now finally being proclaimed worldwide the title, Elohim means Mighty One and or Mighty One’s. As we can observe from Scripture the poem like the people in world religions today, did not and to this very day do not esteem Yahuwah the Almighty Himself. During man made festivals like Thanksgiving humankind continues to worship creation and truly not the Creator.

Our Father in Heaven created Creation for us and “what” must be behind this loving action so that we can understand “what” to be so thankful for? Believe it or not, it comes down to “who” we give thanks and praise to, for there is only one Name under the heaven in which we can be saved as outlined in Acts 4:12.Thanks to the influence of world religions and their cohesive lie [that the Name of the Creator is god and or lord] when in fact these terms are not names at all, they are titles. Lord god is the English equivalent of BAAL GAD, a nasty little pagan deity. Did Yahuwah know this was going to be the case? Of course He did. We read in Hoshea 2:16, “you shall no longer call Me My Baal.” By reading 1 Kings ch. 18, this same subject has been discussed and known between the Set Apart One’s through the millennium. That is why He asked a very important question,

Who has gone up to the heavens and come down? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has bound the waters in a garment? Who established all the ends of the earth? What is His Name, And what is His Son’s Name, If you know it?” -Proverbs 30:4

So if you truly want to thank the Almighty Himself, His Name is Yahuwah which means “I AM He who is Self-Existent”, not Yahweh which is equivilent to the pagan JOVE (IOVE=YOWE=YAHWEH), the latin supreme deity of Zeus. His only Anointed Son is Named Yahushua which means “I AM He that Saves”, not Yahusha.  This is why He stated He would come in His Father’s Name.

But you do not desire to come to Me in order to possess life. “I do not receive esteem from men, but I know you, that you do not have the love of Elohim in you. “I have come in My Father’s Name and you do not receive Me, if another comes in his own name, him you would receive. “How are you able to believe, when you are receiving esteem from one another, and the esteem that is from the only Elohim you do not seek?” -John 5:40-44

Now that we know “who” to give thanks to, the question remains “what” should we be thankful for. This is easy as Messiah Yahushua gave His life for all of us so that we could have the gift of everlasting life!

By this we have known love, because He laid down His life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.” -1 John 3:16

This gift beloved ones, is embedded in the Feasts of Yahuwah. Yahushua has already fulfilled the first four of the seven annual Feasts of Yahuwah. In fact He will come again to fulfill the last three Feasts. The final Feast of Yahuwah is called the Feast of Booths. The Feast of Booths is where Thanksgiving originally came from but once again humankind changed the truth as outlined in Romans 1:20-25.

The Feast of Booths is a time where true believers thank Yahuwah for His redemptive plan. This fall feast specifically represents the fall harvest which from a Scriptural standpoint. This represents when the final harvest of souls will be accomplished. Beloved ones, this is “what” we should be thankful for. Let’s show the true appreciation and be overjoyed with the thankfulness of the opportunity of and for everlasting life! HalleluYah!

Humankind throughout history has been like a broken record playing the same tune over and over again. Generation after generation has been giving water down thanks to pagan deities instead of the one true Mighty One of Yisra’el, Yahuwah!   Do you realize the potential of the gift of everlasting life, let alone the increased quality of life that can be had on this earth just because you know “who” to thank and “what” to be thankful for? I hope you do.

Now then, since we are the offspring of Elohim, we should not think that the Elohim is like gold or silver or stone, an image made by the skill and thought of man. “Truly, then, having overlooked these times of ignorance, Elohim now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has set a day on which He is going to judge the world in righteousness by a Man whom He has appointed, having given proof of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”-Acts 17:29-31

Make no mistake; Yahuwah has looked at these times of ignorance. Almost 2000 years ago He commanded people to “STOP” the practices contained in these vain man-made traditions as outlined in Mark 7. Truly, Yahushua is going to judge the world at the appointed time.

During this time of annual thanksgiving we are to set up a temporary booth that represents in a Scriptural spiritual sense that we are in the world yet not of it. As well, that our lives and our bodies which are known as booths [temporary dwellings] will be part of an in-gathering of those who are patiently waiting for the gift of eternity and that final and wonderful spiritual harvest. What a beautiful gift to be thankful for answering once and for all the question “what” should we be thankful for.

This miraculous redemptive plan of Yahuwah is at the very core of “what” we should be thankful for. His Son, Yahushua is the “Who” we should give thanks to for carrying this redemptive plan out on behalf of the Father Yahuwah!

After seeing this incredible gift, how can anyone settle for turkeys, pumpkin pie, or even mother earth along with incorrect titles from the cohesive lie world religions have created as compared to the truth shared above?

Now that we know “Who” to thank and “what” to be thankful for; how can the world’s traditions compare to the majesty and example of the unconditional love and mercy the Yahuwah has shown us? It cannot. Therefore let us,

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him; bless His Name.” –Tehellim 100:4
